Believe it or not, there are a wad of things that can make for a less-than-ideal morning like getting stuck in a bad traffic jam or a sudden downpour. While there are things that you can't help, there are other little morning habits that you can check to ensure that you kick start your day on the right foot. Set yourself up for a great day ahead by zapping these bad a.m. behaviors.

Don't drink coffee as soon as you wake up
Think any time is a great time for coffee? Not quite so, we fear. Energy levels are in its peak in the morning. Quaffing coffee causes further surge of energy in the body that can leave you jittery all through the day. It's best to hit that cup of morning java at least an hour after you leave the bed. That's when your energy levels begin to dip. So  a cup of mojo would help keep you u and going for the most part.

Don't settle for a small breakfast
A cupful of fruits tossed into yogurt might seem like a perfect low-calorie breakfast, but beware. It can set you up for a big binge in the noontime. A small breakfast lacking in all the essential nutrients can get you feeling famished in the later half of the day. Make sure your morning meal includes  around 15 grams of protein, 2.5 grams of fiber, complex carbs, and some healthy fat. Go for a king-size morning meal to have a fab day ahead. Trust us, it works.

Don't check your e-mail the first thing in the morning
Avoid logging on to your mail account to check your e-mails the first thing in the morning. Checking your inbox the moment you wake up can stress you out for the rest of the day. Rather focus on having a calm and quiet morning. Kick it off with some exercise, a nice cup of tea, and an activity that would get your creative juices flowing.
