The organizer of the upcoming adult entertainment expo in Houston has been notified that its booking contract has been terminated at area hotels for the secont time in two weeks
Last week, organizer John Gray came to know that the Hilton Houston Southwest in the Galleria area had canceled booking from17th to 20th August at that hotel due to concerns raised by a national advocacy group.
One day later Gray announced that he had found another venue, a Holiday Inn location in Southwest Houston. He Gray was scrambling to find a new venue for his adult film-star-laden event once again and said of the Holiday Inn location, "I was notified on Tuesday afternoon that they wouldn't let the expo take place there,"
InterContinental Hotels Group who was the parent company of Holiday Inn Express stated regarding the cancellation of TEXXXAS, "We have learned that this independently owned and operated Holiday Inn hotel has made the decision to no longer host the group in question given the heightened sensitivity surrounding this event and in consideration of the safety and comfort of all guests,"
Porn stars Ron Jeremy, Nina Hartley, Evan Stone, Mia Vallis, Aysia Garza, Cherie Deville, Olivia Austin, Dillion Harper, Brett Rossi and others will be there to meet their fans and sign autographs at TEXXXAS.
The anti-exploitation group is a national organization, famous for opposing pornography, linking it to sex trafficking, violence against women, child abuse and addiction said,
"After we heard that the TEXXXAS event had been cancelled by Hilton, we reached out to remind IHG executives of the potential harms such an event could have on the local community and of IHG's own policy on pornography. In a clear display of corporate and social responsibility, IHG took immediate action to address the situation,".
Earlier in this year, a Dallas judge sided with the city government, in regards to a similar sex expo, eXXXotica, out of city limits.
