This Lion Heart Autographs, online New York auctioneer, shows a photo of the Titanic’s last lunch menu. It is going to be auctioned by the online auctioneer along with two other previously unknown artifacts from Lifeboat 1 on Sept, marking the 30th anniversary of the wreckage’s discovery at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean.
The menu is expected to get $50,000 to $70,000. The Titanic’s last lunch menu was saved by a survivor. The passenger climbed up the so-called ‘Money Boat’ prior to the ocean liner going down. Due to unfounded rumors that crew member were bribed by the first-class passengers to row away with 12 members on the boat with a 40 member capacity, the lifeboat got its name ‘Money Boat’.
A letter written six months later by one of the Titanic’s survivors is expected to fetch $4,000 to $6,000, while a printed ticket is expected to fetch$7,500 to $10,000. The ticket was from the opulent Turkish baths of the Titanic. A person’s weight was recorded on the ticket, when he was seated in a specially designed chair.
Last lunch menu of Titanic
The Titanic’s Last lunch menu included corned beef, dumplings, besides other savory items. Isaac Gerald Frauenthal, another first-class passenger also signed on the back in pencil. He escaped on another lifeboat. It is believed that both these men had lunch together that day in 1912.
