The craze for unique selfies has reached the edge. People forget everything in their pursuits for selfies. A Polish couple defied safety rules while trying to click a selfie over the edge of a cliff in Portugal.

The couple was so busy clicking a selfie over the cliff edge that they slipped and fell to their death.

The incident took place at a cliff edge at Cabo de Roca near Lisbon, a place that is frequented by tourists.

According to reports, the couple crossed a barrier meant to keep people away from the cliff edge. While trying to click a selfie the couple slipped and fell down. The couple were accompanied by their two children, aged 5 and 6, when the accident took place.

For the last few years the couple had been living in Portugal. Their bodies were recovered on Monday.

This is not an isolated case of fatal selfie. Only last week, a young man in Mexico tried to click a gun selfie and accidentally shot himself in his head.
