William Shatner is likely to appear in Star Trek 3. Shatner says he would like to star in a reboot series from the franchise.

The 83-year old actor had starred in several films of Star Trek original franchise. The original Star Trek series started in 1979. The series produced five instalments, with the same cast including Shatner, who played the role of Captain Kirk.

Star Trek's reboot series started in 2009. Last year the franchise released 'Star Trek Into Darkness'.

The makers of the reboot series have reportedly approached Shatner to reprise his role in Star Trek 3.

Shatner says he would be delighted to appear in a reboot series of Star Treck, but his decision will depend on the character he would be playing.

Though Shatner said he could not reveal anything related to his possible involvement in the film, but rumours began to flood the internet with reports about the same.

Actors Zoe Saldana Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto, who had starred in the previous two series, are likely to return in Star Trek 3.
