Matt Smith is all set to appear in 'Pride and Prejudice and Zombies'. The 'Doctor Who' star has joined the cast of the upcoming film which will be an adaptation of the 2009 parody novel by Seth Grahame-Smith.
'Pride and Prejudice and Zombies' will be a horror-comedy spin on Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. The lead character Liz Bennett (played by Lily James) is being pressured to marry a wealthy upper-class man by her family. But Liz has no affection for the stiff social culture of Victorian England. She feels it would be better to help defend the countryside against an impending zombie plague.
Matt Smith is playing the character of a parson named Mr. Collins. He is looking for a wife and proposes marriage to Liz Bennett.
Actors Lily James, Jack Huston, Sam Riley, Douglas Booth and Bella Heathcote will feature in the upcoming movie.
Cross Creek's Brian Oliver, Allison Shearmur, Sean McKittrick, Natalie Portman, Annette Savitch, Tyler Thompson and Marc Butan are producing the project.
Shooting for the film, which has been on-and-off for a long time, will finally start on September 24.
