Jamie Dornan seems to be exploring new roles after 'Fifty Shades of Grey'. Dornan's next film 'The Siege of Jadotville' will be a geopolitical thriller.

The 32-year old actor will play the role of a UN commander Pat Quinlan, who is stranded in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Richie Smyth will direct the film, which will be his directorial debut.

Dornan, while confirming reports, said that he is eagerly waiting to get stuck into Jadotville. The upcoming film has an amazing story and Commandant Pat Quinlan is a great character to to portray on screen.

The 'Fifty Shades of Grey' star says that he is a great fan of Richie Smyth and Alan Moloney. And is excited about working with both of them, added Dornan.

Recently Smyth got several awards for an advert that highlighted the issue of child abuse in Ireland. He was honoured with several best director awards all over the globe. But Smyth is known more for his commercial and music work that includes videos like U2, The Verve and Bon Jovi.

Shooting for the film will begin in the spring of 2015 in Ireland and South Africa.
