Gautam Adani has surpassed Mukesh Ambani to become Asia's wealthiest person, as per the latest information from the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. The rankings published on Friday reveal that Adani, who is the Founder and Chairman of the Adani Group, now occupies the 19th position globally with a wealth of $92.6 billion. Ambani, the head of Reliance Industries, closely follows in 20th place with an estimated net worth of $90.8 billion. This change follows a significant rise in Adani’s wealth, enabling him to surpass Ambani in the worldwide rankings and regain the title of the richest individual in Asia. In the regional standings, Zhang Yiming, the Chinese tech entrepreneur and ex-CEO of ByteDance, ranks next with a net worth of $68.7 billion. Following him is Zhong Shanshan, the founder and chairman of Nongfu Spring, boasting a net worth of $68.2 billion. On a global level, Elon Musk remains in the lead, holding the top rank with an estimated wealth of $656 billion. He is followed by Larry Page, who has $286 billion, and Jeff Bezos, with a fortune of $269 billion.
Other important names on the global list include Mark Zuckerberg and Larry Ellison, highlighting the significant influence of tech leaders among the world's richest people. When looking at wealth changes from 2025 to 2026, Adani ranks 19th among those who have increased their wealth the most, seeing a rise of $8.10 billion in the year. In contrast, Ambani ranks among the top five people with the greatest wealth declines, with his fortune falling by $16.9 billion during the same time, according to Bloomberg’s 2026 index. In the context of global shifts, Elon Musk recorded the largest increase in wealth, adding $36.7 billion to his total. On the other hand, Bernard Arnault, currently the ninth richest individual in the world, faced the greatest drop, seeing a decrease of $44 billion in his net worth.
