Shefali Jariwala, an actress who rose to prominence in 2002 with the hit remix music video "Kaanta Laga," passed away on June 27 (Friday). Her unexpected demise at the age of 42 has left the entertainment world in utter disbelief. Diagnosed with epilepsy when she was just 15, Jariwala gained further recognition for her brief appearance as the "Kaanta Laga Girl" in the 2004 movie "Mujhse Shaadi Karogi." She also participated in reality television shows such as "Nach Baliye 5" and "Nach Baliye 7," where she appeared with her husband, actor Parag Tyagi. Additionally, she was a contestant on "Bigg Boss 13." On Friday night, her husband rushed her to Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital located in suburban Mumbai. According to a source from the hospital, she was brought in around 11:15 pm, where the attending physician pronounced her dead upon her arrival.

Initial investigations into her death indicate that she may have succumbed to cardiac arrest, but a definitive cause has yet to be established. Early medical examination results suggest that she experienced a combination of low blood pressure, cardiac arrest, and severe gastric issues. A postmortem examination was carried out at Cooper Hospital and was documented on video, with results anticipated on Monday (June 30), as stated by the Amboli police. A police representative noted that based on initial findings, her death appears to be a natural occurrence with no indicators of foul play involved. An anonymous doctor indicated that Jariwala's last visit to their clinic was in March, just three months prior to her passing. A team of five physicians is currently investigating whether her medications, food poisoning, or epilepsy might have contributed to the suspected cardiac arrest.

Authorities in Mumbai are looking into the possibility that self-medication and food poisoning may have led to Jariwala's death, likely resulting from cardiac arrest. It was reported that she consumed stale fried rice while observing a fast and had administered anti-aging injections without recent medical oversight. The police, along with forensic experts, examined Jariwala's home and found substances such as glutathione (a drug commonly used for skin clarity and detoxification), Vitamin C injections, and pills for acidity, which hint at dangerous and unsupervised anti-aging treatments that may induce heart complications, particularly while fasting. An insider revealed that Jariwala had been taking "anti-aging medications for approximately the last seven to eight years."

A source mentioned that a religious ceremony was held at their home on June 27, leading her to fast; however, she still administered an anti-aging injection that afternoon. These medications had been prescribed by a physician years before, and she had been receiving this treatment monthly since then. According to ongoing police inquiries, it seems that these medications could have played a significant role in her cardiac arrest. The potential adverse effects of such treatments include heart rhythm disturbances, arrhythmias, and low blood pressure. There have been several case reports of patients who experienced fatal outcomes after receiving intravenous detoxifying drips, with sudden collapses or abrupt hypotension being cited as causes of death.

It is not possible to link any sudden cardiac fatalities to an individual with a background of receiving glutathione or detoxification infusions. If Shefali Jariwala's death is indeed related to her anti-aging treatments, it underscores the ongoing societal pressure on women, particularly within the entertainment sector, to conform to specific beauty standards. The autopsy report concerning Shefali Jariwala is anticipated today and will clarify the true cause of her passing. Although Shefali's career in the entertainment field was somewhat intermittent due to her epilepsy, she never completely faded from the spotlight. Aside from the fame brought by the song "Kaanta Laga," she consistently captured public attention through various performances, public gatherings, and her vibrant social media presence that showcased her life alongside her husband, Parag Tyagi. All interest will focus on the results of her postmortem report, expected to be released today.
