Lucknow police have registered an FIR on the participants of the controversial 'AIB Knockout' show, including Bollywood director Karan Johar and actors Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor for using abusive language.
Kailash Chandra Pandey, the complainant alleged that the circulation of vulgar content over internet is ‘against Indian culture’. A case under section 294 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) (for obscene acts or words in public) and section 66 of the IT Act (for sending offensive messages through communication service, etc.) has been filed against the three celebrities based on complaint filed with additional chief judical magistrate (ACJM-1) Suchi Srivastava.
The convener of Rashtriya Shahari Vikas Samiti and complainant, Pandey reportedly alleged that the videos were ‘extremely ridiculous and vulgar’. He explained with his own experience of noticing his 9 year old son watching it on a mobile after downloading it from YouTube.
The next date of hearing on this petition is February 26, and, if the organizers and participants found guilty, one can be sentenced to a jail term for two to three years as per the law mentioned.
Aamir Khan and Anushka Sharma have openly objected the show, while Ranbir Kapoor and Anurag Kashyap have supported the show procedures.
