Everybody mourns the passing away of the greats. And British filmmaker Richard Attenborough was no different. The 90-year-old Oscar winning actor-filmmaker, who passed on August 24, 2014, was one of the most distinguished talent in international films. No wonder, as soon as the news of his death spread like the jungle fire, tributes started gushing in. And our Bollywood fraternity wasn't really the one to stay behind.

No sooner the news hit the web, B-Town celebs like Anil Kapoor and Shobha De took to social media to mourn the loss a man who gave us a monumental biopic like “Gandhi”. Here's what the celebrities had to say:

Anil Kapoor: I learnt more about the Mahatma from Attenborough's Gandhi than the history lessons in school. Unforgettable, honest & inspirational!
