As the whole nation immerses itself in the vibrant hues of the Holi festivities, the leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party persist in their protest against the detention of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in connection to a money laundering case associated with the Delhi Excise Policy. On Monday, Atishi, a Delhi Minister and AAP member, declared that they have made a collective decision to abstain from playing with colors and celebrating Holi this year. She urged fellow citizens to unite with them in the battle against injustice and malevolence. "Holi is not merely a festival, but a representation of the triumph of righteousness over wickedness, and justice over cruelty. Today, every leader of the Aam Aadmi Party is relentlessly fighting against this cruelty, evil, and injustice. This year, the Aam Aadmi Party has made the resolution to refrain from playing with colors and not celebrate Holi," the AAP leader shared on X.

In a veiled criticism directed at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for eradicating democracy from the country, Atishi expressed, "Because the heartless dictator has imprisoned the beloved Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of Delhi. Today, they have spared no effort in their mission to obliterate democracy from the nation." Join us in the battle against cruelty and injustice this Holi. This fight is not just for AAP, but for the whole of Delhi and our nation, in order to protect democracy." Earlier this week, Atishi announced that the INDIA bloc will be hosting a rally on March 31 to protest against the arrest of Arvind Kejriwal by the Enforcement Directorate.

Following his arrest on March 21, Kejriwal was remanded to six days of ED custody in relation to a money laundering case connected to an alleged liquor policy scam. Speaking to the press, Atishi, an AAP minister, stated, "The INDIA alliance is organizing a 'Maha Rally' at Ramlila Maidan on March 31. This rally is not organized solely to defend Arvind Kejriwal, but to safeguard democracy. Opposition leaders are being targeted and imprisoned. Even sitting chief ministers are being sent to jail right after elections are announced. The CM is imprisoned while opposition party bank accounts are frozen. The constitution of India, which guarantees democracy, is now in peril. We are holding this rally to protect democracy," she declared.
