Rahul Gandhi to contest from Telangana?

Rahul Gandhi, a leader of the Congress party, is expected to step down from his parliamentary seat in Wayanad, Kerala. Sources indicate that he will run for office in two different constituencies, one in either Karnataka or Telangana and the other in Uttar Pradesh, during the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. This development arises amidst negotiations for seat-sharing in Kerala, where the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) is exerting pressure on the Congress party to allocate them three seats instead of two this time. The IUML wishes to contest from Wayanad due to the significant number of Muslim voters in the region.

Furthermore, the Communist Party of India (CPI) has nominated Annie Raja, the wife of the party's general secretary D Raja, as their candidate in Wayanad. It would not be favorable for the INDIA alliance if one of their prominent leaders' spouses were to run against Rahul Gandhi. A recent report stated that during the national executive meeting of the CPI, D Raja had mentioned that there was no discussion about asking the Congress party to withdraw from Wayanad. He clarified that Wayanad was one of the four seats assigned to the CPI as part of the seat-sharing agreement within the Left Democratic Front (LDF). PP Suneer, the candidate from the CPI, was unable to secure enough votes for victory.
