Top Tamil actor Vijay (C Joseph Vijay) floated his own political party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) and his party contested in all the 234 constituencies. His party created history and Vijay took oath as the new Chief Minister of the state yesterday morning. Nehru Stadium is packed with fans and party supporters. Dressed in a black suit, Vijay arrived in style and took his oath. Tamil actress Trisha was present and was the other attraction of the event.

Vijay met Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar on Saturday and claimed the support of five MLAs of Congress, two lawmakers of the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), and two each from the Communist Party of India (CPI), the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI-M), and the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML). His alliance stands with 120 MLAs and Vijay will resign from one of the constituencies soon.
