A murder that was first thought to be the result of a robbery late at night in the Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh has taken a shocking twist. The police are claiming it was an intentional plan involving the wife of the victim and her boyfriend. The situation in Gondikheda village started when Priyanka said that unknown attackers broke into her house during the night, assaulted her, and murdered her husband, Devkrishna, before escaping. She was discovered crying at the location, with the house in disarray. However, investigators later found what they consider to be a fake crime scene and a murder that was planned ahead of time. As they investigated, the comments from the victim's family indicated that the marriage had not been going well, with many arguments taking place. Family members of the victim have accused Priyanka of mocking her husband, making remarks about how he looked, such as telling him, “Tum kaale ho (you’re dark), I deserve a better man,” and sometimes suggesting he should get a divorce.
According to the police, Priyanka had been seeing Kamlesh since 2020. Investigators stated that the two plotted to kill Devkrishna and then tried to make the murder look like a robbery. Officials reported that Kamlesh involved another person, Surendra, and they agreed on a payment of about Rs 1 lakh to carry out the murder. The police mentioned that the plan was carried out at night while the victim was asleep, reducing the risk of him resisting. Devkrishna was reportedly attacked with a sharp object and passed away immediately. To hide the crime, the accused supposedly made it look like a robbery by scattering things around the house and tying up Priyanka. She then screamed for help to support the false story they created. Within a day and a half, the police stated they had solved the case. Priyanka and Kamlesh have been taken into custody, and efforts are ongoing to find the third suspect, Surendra.
Dhar Superintendent of Police Mayank Awasthi stated, "The scene was set to confuse the investigation. Evidence and questioning showed a planned conspiracy involving the wife and her accomplice," he said.
