The pollution levels in Delhi have once again risen, with the city experiencing two consecutive days of "poor" air quality according to the pollution department's data. The air quality index (AQI) in Delhi reached 234 on Monday, indicating poor air quality. This follows the city's AQI entering the "poor" category on Sunday, with a reading of 224, a day after Dussehra celebrations. The last time Delhi's AQI was in the "poor" range was 19 days ago, on September 25, as per the Central Pollution Control Board. The Delhi government has announced a Winter Action Plan to combat pollution and has imposed an immediate ban on the production, storage, sale, and use of all kinds of firecrackers across the city until January 1. The government claims to be taking all necessary steps to curb air pollution, which typically increases during the winter season.

As the colder months approach, pollution levels tend to rise. The government is working on a 21-point plan to address this issue and will intensify efforts to raise public awareness. The main sources of pollution in the city are dust, transportation emissions, and biomass burning. The city experienced a slightly higher than average maximum temperature of 34.4 degrees Celsius. The weather forecast for Tuesday includes a partly cloudy sky with a maximum temperature around 35 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 18 degrees Celsius.
