On Monday CBI officers arrested the former principal of RG Kar Medical College, Sandip Ghosh in connection with post-graduate doctor rape and murder case.
CBI has grilled Ghosh before arresting. Ghosh was asked to specify the reason why he had stopped the victim's parents to wait without reaching the body for about three hours. The ex-principal of the college was also questioned, who had ordered renovation of the rooms near the seminar hall after the incident. In the last three days, CBI officers have questioned Ghosh for hours over the issue. CBI also checked his mobile phone and his call history and WhatsApp chat data.
Ghosh was an orthopaedic doctor and resigned from RG Kar Medical College after the two days the woman was raped and murdered. He was in tears and expressed his fear of attack before the Calcutta High Court and requested protection. The High Court has asked him to approach the single bench.

On the flip side, a person was arrested allegedly linked with disclosing the identity of the victim on social media, who was murdered at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. He also issued threats to the West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee. After the complaint was made, police arrested him Monday.
Instagram username Kirtisocial has uploaded the victim's photo and also revealed the victim's identity. The accused has shared three Instagram stories related to the issue. At the same time, he also posted two stories against Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee that contained offensive comments and life threats to her, which are very provocative in nature and might create some unrest in the state. He was presented before the court today.
The protests also continue at Medical colleges. Hundreds of women came down to the streets in Kolkata and also in different parts of the country demanding justice for the rape and murder of a doctor.
Women of all ages came down on roads with protests “We Want Justice”. Many key figures of Kolkata also joined the protests. In Delhi, members of the resident doctors association took out a candlelight march.
There is so much pressure on the government in West Bengal over handling the situation and crime. Trinamool Congress was criticized for their outcry.
On the flipside CBI continues its investigation, CBI also conducted 3D laser mapping of the emergency ward at RG Kar Medical College and also conducted Psychological testing on the main accused.
