Karnataka's Home Minister, G Parameshwara, announced on Thursday that a lookout notice had been issued against Prajwal Revanna, an MP from the Janata Dal (Secular) party. This action was taken as Revanna failed to appear before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) that is currently looking into a case involving obscene videos. The SIT had summoned both Prajwal and his father for questioning. Prajwal Revanna, who is the grandson of JDS leader HD Deve Gowda and is running for re-election in Hassan, has been charged under several sections of the Indian Penal Code for alleged sexual harassment, intimidation, and disrespecting the dignity of a woman. Minister Parameshwara emphasized that both Prajwal and his father must present themselves before the SIT, and if they do not do so promptly, they will be arrested. "A lookout notice has been issued, and it has been communicated that they must appear before the SIT. Since they have been notified, they are obligated to appear. If they fail to do so, they will be arrested," clarified Parameshwara.
I have already informed CID Bangalore about my concerns through my lawyer. The truth will be revealed soon." After the voting in Karnataka's Hassan ended on April 26, Prajwal reportedly escaped to Germany. Meanwhile, Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar called on JDS and BJP leaders, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, to visit Hassan and meet the victims involved in the alleged scandalous videos case. "I urge Amit Shah to come to Hassan and meet the victims. Your party has only provided a letter, so please identify them and meet them," Shivakumar expressed. Amit Shah stated on Wednesday that the BJP never supports any mistreatment of women. "Whose government is in power in Karnataka? The Congress party is responsible for law and order. They have been aware of this for months, but they did not apprehend him until the Vokkaliga voting was completed. They allowed him to escape. The responsibility lies with the Karnataka CM, HM, and Deputy CM," Shah remarked. Apart from the political blame game between the Congress and the BJP, Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, requesting the cancellation of Revanna Jr's diplomatic passport. The Karnataka CM also appealed to the BJP-led Central government to ensure the "absconding" MP's return to India to face the consequences of the law.
