Congress considering Bharat Jodo Yatra 2.0:- Congress leader Rahul Gandhi took up Bharat Jodo Yatra last year and toured across the major constituencies of the country for over six months. Congress performed well in several states and the leadership believed that it was because of Bharat Jodo Yatra taken by Rahul Gandhi. Now the party leadership is considering the second phase of Bharat Jodo Yatra and the schedule is planned between December this year and February 2024 targeting the Parliament elections in the country that are scheduled for April and May 2024. There are reports that Bharat Jodo Yatra 2.0 will be in hybrid mode and the participants will be using vehicles.
The first phase of Bharat Jodo Yatra started on September 7th, 2022 in Kanyakumari and Rahul Gandhi covered 4080 kilometers and it got ended in January 2023. Bharat Jodo Yatra passed through 75 districts of the country through 12 states in 126 days. Several senior Congress leaders participated in Bharat Jodo Yatra and supported Rahul Gandhi who was on a mission. In September this year, former Finance Minister P Chidambaram announced that Bharat Jodo Yatra second phase will take place soon and it is in planning stage. Congress leadership is in plans to cover East to West and an official announcement is expected soon. Rahul Gandhi has given his nod for the leadership that he would participate in Bharat Jodo Yatra 2.0.
