Parliament Sessions commence in new Premises

In a historic move, the new Parliament building got inaugurated and the sessions started in the new premises today. A function took place after a photo session in the Central Hall. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi started the session with his speech. Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, JMM leader Shibu Soren, and BJP MP Maneka Gandhi have been asked to address the function. All the senior Parliamentarians were present on the day. The Old Parliament building is 96-years-old and it was inaugurated in 1927 by Jawaharlal Nehru. British architects Sir Edwin Lutyens and Herbert Baker designed the building.

The new Parliament building is a part of India's Central Vista Redevelopment Project and it was inaugurated officially on May 28th, 2023. It is located in Rafi Marg and the session of Parliament will continue till Friday. The Old Parliament building will be called as Samvidhan Sadan told Narendra Modi. "The new Parliament Building reflects the aspirations of 140 crore Indians. Speaking in the Lok Sabha" posted Narendra Modi along with his speech on Twitter.
