Intensifying cyclone Biparjoy hits Gujarat with a high tidal wave and issued a red alert. Gujarat government is on their toes and reviewing meetings with concerned departments. The strong winds have lashed out the parts of Morbi. Saurashtra and Kutch's districts are the most affected. Cyclone Biparjoy is expected to cross between Mandvi and Karachi, near Jakhau port in Gujarat.
The forest departments were also alerted to safeguard the wildlife as they might be a chance for landfalls in Gujarat due to heavy winds. The winds are expected with a speed of 125 to 135kmph and up to 150kmph in the coastal regions. At around 12:30 PM on June 15th the winds are at a speed of 60-70 kmph, which will speed up when Biparjoy is nearby and is expected to have 120-135kmph of wind speed. The government has asked the public to stay indoors.

To safeguard the properties, primitive measures were taken by the authorities. Coach Guard Regional headquarters in Mumbai and the Maritime Rescue coordination centre have shepherded more than 5000 merchant vessels and fishing boats to safety. There is expected to be a worst hit by today evening (June 15th). 76 trains have been cancelled, 31 short originated and 36 short terminated. Rajasthan government also looking over the cyclone Biparjoy and has made review meetings. The coastal regions of Karnataka will also face severe rainfall till June 19th. Mostly of Uttara Kannada districts, Udipi and Dakshini Kannada districts.
