The Indian Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is all set to present the budget in the Parliament tomorrow and the Economic Survey will be presented by her today which is a prequel for the Union Budget 2022. During his speech, Indian President Ram Nath Kovind lauded the vaccination drive in the country. He said that the government-administered more than 150 crore doses of coronavirus vaccine in less than a year. Here are the highlights of his speech in the Parliament house:

I bow down for all the fighters who brought the freedom for the country. It is our duty to remember everyone who contributed for the development of the country after achieving independence.

Indian vaccination drive is the best in the world. We have administered more than 150 crore doses of vaccine in a year. We are the leading countries in the world when it comes to the doses that are administered.

The government distributed free ration for the poor across the year as a part of PM Gareeb Kalyan Yojana. We have the largest food distribution program and Ayushman Bharat is a huge benefit for the poor. Jan Aushadi Kendra is a great move and the medicines are available for quite low prices and this benefits the poor.

Through PM Svanidhi Yojana, the government helped 28 lakh street vendors and the amount is worth Rs 2900 crores. All these vendors are getting connected through online companies.

Several measures have been taken for women empowerment in the country and it has been the top priority of the government. There are many positive results through Beti Bachao and Beti Padhao.

Over 11 crore families of the farmers are benefited by the government. There are better opportunities in the field of health, employment and education. The first batch of women cadets of NDA will be admitted in June 2022.
