India Witnesses a Sudden Spike in New Covid-19 Cases

The Omicron variant is all over the country and the new cases of coronavirus saw a sudden rise in the nation. Maharashtra added 11,877 new cases on Sunday and the state witnessed a 29 percent jump when compared to the previous day which was 9170. Karnataka witnessed a 241 percent jump in the new cases and the state reported 1187 new cases. New Delhi reported 3194 new cases on Sunday which is huge. 144 section has been imposed in Mumbai and the active cases in the state are said to be 42,024. Mumbai witnessed 503 patients hospitalized yesterday alone and 56 among them are kept on oxygen support.

There are 10,292 active cases of coronavirus in Karnataka and Bengaluru alone had 8671 among them. The Omicron variant is the reason for the massive spread in the country as per the reports coming from the Health Experts. India reported 33,750 new cases of coronavirus in India and 10,846 people recovered completely from coronavirus. 123 people passed away in the last 24 hours and there are 1,45,582 active cases in the nation. A total number of 3,42,95,407 people recovered completely from coronavirus in total and the death toll reached 4,81,893. The total number of vaccination doses administered in India are said to be 1,45,68,89,306.

The total number of confirmed Omicron cases in the country reached 1700 as per the reports from the Union Health Ministry and the variant is spreading at a fast pace. States like Maharashtra, New Delhi, Karnataka, West Bengal and Haryana imposed several restrictions along with night curfews in the states.
