Prime Minister Modi Says, 1000 Kms Of Metro Rail By 2022 to 100 Smart Cities

PM Modi shares the plans to expand metro rail services to 100 smart cities by 2022. On Tuesday, Modi attended the 3rd Annual Bloomberg New Economy Forum via video conference.

The Economy Forum included discussions of Modi with investors. He guided to invest on urban centers to rebuild the weakened economy due to pandemic.

He officially spoke to investors about the expansion of 1000 kms of metro rail to 100 smart cities by near future.

PM Modi reiterated on utilizing the opportunities in order to develop the national economy. He said "If you are looking to invest in urbanization, India has exciting opportunities for you. If you are looking to invest in mobility, India has exciting opportunities for you.”

The central government selected 100 smart cities through a two stage process. And the projects of worth nearly 1,40,000 crore are almost completed, said PM Modi to the business heads.

He addressed the forum saying about the recent initiatives by the Central government such as Digital India, Startup India, easy housing and Metro Rail in 27 cities.
