India and Israel to Jointly Develop Coronavirus Test That Gives Result in 30 seconds

Israel will send top R&D team by a special flight to Delhi in the coming days. The team will work with India’s top scientist K Vijay Raghavan.

As a part of Israeli mission in India, Israeli government took to twitter on Thursday to express gratification and said that when the coronavirus outbreak took place in Israel, Indian government has sent protective gear, masks and medicines.

As reciprocation, Israel is now joining hands with India to develop COVID-19 testing kit which would give the result in a mere 30 second time.

A special flight with a high ranking ministry of Defence R&D team from Tel Aviv will come to Delhi in the coming days for the project and work with India’s chief scientist K Raghavan in developing the COVID-19 test.

The Israeli embassy has also said in its series of tweets that mechanical ventilators would also be sent to India owing to special permissions from the Israel government, on the same flight that carries the R&D team.

Since the global pandemic has been showing its true colors from March, Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi have had 3 telephonic calls in which they had promised to each other mutual assistance and joint technological and scientific research to eliminate the virus.

The Israel embassy also tweeted that merging Israel’s technology with India’s will enable faster resumption to normal life alongside the virus.

As per reports, Israel is sending its Defence forces to provide a technology that would enable medical professionals to monitor and treat coronavirus patients with minimum contact. The technology can be produced in large quantities and could be delivered to third countries jointly in the future.

The Israel mission in India also stated that it is proud to reciprocate India with this gesture.

Israeli ambassador to India Dr. Ron Molka has said that he is proud to lead the delegation to India and in the difficult times like these friendships between countries would be tested. He is confident that India and Israel could jointly invent innovative and cheap solutions to eliminate coronavirus from the countries.

He added that COVID-19 being a global challenge requires global cooperation between countries to bring a fortified solution to the pandemic.

India and Israel’s R&D military cooperation is well known for its success in the past. It is estimated that this joint cooperation from private sectors of both the countries joined by scientific minds would introduce a breakthrough in swift and simple COVID-19 testing procedures.
