Roshni Nadar Malhotra who is the daughter of billionaire Industrialist Shiv Nadar is now the new chairperson at HCL technologies and here is everything you should know about her.

Shiv Nadar the former Chair person at HCL technologies stepped down from the role a few hours ago. The HCL technology was founded around 40 years ago by Shiv Nadar himself. The HCL technology is a multi-national IT giant. It is headquartered in Noida. HCL technology was founded not just by Shiv Nadar but also by Arjun Malhotra who is the co-founder of the company.

The boards of Directors at HCL technologies havechosen the 38 year old CEO, Roshni Nadar Malhotra as their next chair person.

Roshni Nadar Malhotra who is just 38 years old is the only child of Former chair person Shiv Nadar. She has been the CEO and Executive Director at HCL Corporation for quite some time. Apart from that she is also the vice-chairperson at the Board of HCL technologies and it only seems fit that now she become the Chair person after her father steps down.

Apart from being the daughter of a billionaire industrialist, Roshni Nadar Malhotra was only named the wealthiest woman in India in the previous year 2019. On would wonder that the Ambani women would have the highest net worth but turns out, Roshni Nadar Malhotra has a net worth of Rs. 36,800 crore o her name. Not just that she was named Forbes 54th most powerful woman in the entire world.

Education: A little something about her early years is that Roshni grew up in Delhi and did her early schooling from the Vasant Valley School. She later moved to the United States where she graduated from North Western University in the city of Illinois. She majored in Communication stream manly Radio, TV and Films.

After completing her graduation she also went for a master’s degree. She did her master’s in Business Administration from Kellogg School of Managemnt. Her main specialization for a MBA degree was Social Enterprise Management and Strategy.

Work: After the completion of her MBA, Roshni became a producer and worked in a few companies.

HCL corporation: She joined HCL corporation and within a year achieved the position of CEO and as well as Executive Director at HCL corporation. She is known for providing strategic guidance to the corporation and taking it to new heights.

In 2013, after four years joining the HCL groups she became a board of member at HCL technologies, which is the subsidiary of HCL corporation. She joined the board as the Additional director in 2013,

She was actively involved in building various brand projects across all the HCL Subsidiaries’.

Charitable work:

Apart from leading and managing business corporation and being the wealthiest women in India she also has been working towards giving back, whether it is being involved in her father’s foundation or founding a wildlife conservation trust she has been hands on in both the fields.

Roshni Nadar Malhotra is also a trustee of her father’s foundation called the Shiv Nadar Foundation. They also have an Academy for economically underprivileged called the Vidhya Gyan Leadership Academy where Roshni is the chair person.

In 2018, Roshni founded and established the Habitats Trust which works towards wildlife conservation. From protecting India’s natural habitat to its indigenous species Habitats trust does it all. The ultimate goal of the trust is to create and conserve sustainable ecosystem with the help of strategic collaborations as well as partnerships.
