The death of a father and son, Jayaraj and Bennix has ignited uproar all over the Tamil Nadu. While Police say they died of Heart stroke and fever respectively, their relatives deny.

In yet another assault by Police, the gruesome deaths of a father and a son, Jayaraj and Bennix have come to light on Friday. This sparked the furor over social media and the netizens demand justice for the duo.

As the Tamil Nadu government reinstated lockdown starting from June 19, all the businesses were closed like before except the one mobile store of Jayaraj and Bennix that caught the eyes of Police.

Noticing that the store was open after the permissible hours, the Sathankulam Police took the father and son to custody in order to investigate further.

According to certain sources, after a brief questioning, the Police have approached the magistrate, B.Saravanan for the remand of the two. He allegedly gave the remand order even without checking if Jayaraj and Bennix were physically injured.

Police have filed FIR against the father and son on June 19.

Some other reports say that on the wee hours of June 20, Bennix and Jayaraj were taken to hospital before they were brought before the magistrate. Beniix and his father did not speak the truth near the doctors as they were threatened by the Sathankulam Police.

The son, Bennix fell ill on June 22 and was admitted to Kovilpatti hospital where he died. Soon after a day, on June 23 his father, Jayaraj also died.

Allegedly, the duo was beaten up and was sexually assaulted by the Police. Acoording to the friend of Bennix who gave his statement to the local press, the father and son had changed 7 lungis (waist cloth) between 7 am and 12 pm on June 20 as they are soaked in blood due to bleeding from their rectums.

His friend who was also present in the station while the Police tortured them said that he had only heard screams of Jayaraj and Bennix in the span of 3 hours. He also said that both of them came out of the police station with blood-shed and torn clothes.

After these details came out, there was a huge hue and cry across Tamil Nadu with outrages and protests. Over 150 people participate in a protest at Virugambakkam market and about 50 people were arrested.

Meanwhile, the kith and kin of Jayaraj and Bennix demanded a murder case against the police who tortured the duo. Their relatives are not ready to accept the bodies until their demand is met.

Heeding to the matter, the Madhurai bench of Madras High Court addressed the Police to submit a detailed report on the death of the two.

Tamil Nadu CM K.Palaniswami had assured legal action against the perpetrators of the crime. He also announced 10 lakhs ex-gratia to the family of the deceased.

The CM mentioned that the Police inspectors who were responsible for the death of Jayaraj and Bennix were suspended.

Many celebrities took to social networking sites demanding justice to the father and son. The #JusticeforJayarajandFenix has been trending on twitter.
