A 10,000-bed makeshift hospital for COVID-19 patients under a tent is being arranged in South Delhi to be well-prepared to handle an increase in coronavirus cases. This COVID-19 facility will come up at the South Delhi campus of spiritual organization Radha Soami Satsang Beas.

This campus is close to the Delhi Haryana border. Vikas Sethi, the Secretary of Radha Soami Satsang Beas said, there would be 200 enclosures with 50 beds and the area would be 1,700 feet long and 700 feet wide. In the city, this makeshift hospital will be the largest such facility and they are likely to complete all their work by the end of June.

The medical staff might be accommodated in a building on the campus. In this tent, lights, fans and coolers would be installed. Two-three days back, the spiritual organization agreed to have the makeshift hospital. By the end of July, cases are expected to rise up to 5 lakhs and they will need around 1 lakh beds for the COVID-19 patients. This is an estimate made by the Delhi Government

In total, there are about 9,647 covid-19 beds in the state, central and private hospitals. Out of these, around 5,402 are occupied. Right now, the Delhi Government is looking for further options in community halls and stadiums to set up makeshift COVID-19 hospitals.
