West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Benarjee Extends Lockdown In The State Till 30th JuneJune 09, 2020 12:44

West Bengal Chief Minister said in the cabinet meeting that the state’s lockdown is extended till June 30.
Earlier this month, Mamata declared the lockdown extension till 15th June which was declared before the end of fourth phase nationwide lockdown.
Mamata said, “the lockdown extension till 30th will continue with the existing relaxations and conditions. Till now, only 10 people were allowed for social programmes like marriage or a funeral ceremony, now we have increased it to 25”.

West Bengal released the lockdown along with all states on June 1. Government said the strict lockdown restrictions must be followed in the containment zones. The shops, restaurants and religious places will be opened as per the unlock phase 1.0 but enforcement of strict measures.It is a partial lockdown West Bengal as the government noticed a rapid spike in COVID positive cases.
Meanwhile the Mizoram government also extended the lockdown. The Chief Minister of Mizoram, Zoramthanga announced the lockdown extension in a consultative meeting on Monday. It is extended with a stretch of 2 week from today, June 9. Not only lockdown but the quarantine period is also to be prolonged from 14 days to 21 days which was applicable soon after the announcement.
