In the list of the bizarre incidents happening across the world, one incident that stirred the entirety of Telangana was the murder of a man by the hands of his own son. And, the thing that stunned the people around was the fact that the murder was supported by his mother, Tara and younger brother Rakesh. The mastermind of the murder was Tirupati, who committed the murder.

The man, named Tirupati committed the murder to get his father’s job who worked in the public sector on compassionate grounds.

The deceased, M. Narsaiah, who was 58-year worked as a pump operator in Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL), was set to retire in a few days. The incident happened on May 26 at Kotturu village of Peddapalli district in Telangana. The incident was planned by the eldest son, M. Tirupati.

More than the murder itself, what shocked the people around was the fact that the plan was supported by Tirupati’s mother and younger sibling as well.

As per the plan hatched by the accused, the 35-year old sent his mother and brother to their hometown of Godavarikhani on May 23. Following that, he became drunk and then strangulated his father, cutting off the oxygen supply that caused the death.

Following killing his father, Tirupati went to his grandmother’s place and spent the night there. The next morning when he came back home, he informed his relatives and the neighbours that his father died of cardiac arrest and was preparing for the last rites.

Given the fact that he needed a FIR to apply for the process of the job application on compassionate grounds, he approached the Dharmaram police station. He informed the police that his father was drunk and then died in his sleep because of a cardiac arrest.

Sub-Inspector of Police Prem Kumar was the one who registered the case following which he went to the village to inspect the case himself. When he inspected the body, out of suspicion, he decided to move the body for autopsy.

Following the autopsy report that suggested strangulation as the cause of the death, the police started suspecting the family.

“Tirupati confessed that he killed his father with the consent of the family members so that he can get his job,” informed Peddapalli Deputy Commissioner of Police P. Ravinder.

Further police investigations reported that Narsaiah had once tried to quit his job because of his deteriorating health and wanted his son to get the job. The same didn’t happen as the company denied the appeal.

SCCL, a company jointly owned by the Telangana and Central governments has mentioned in its rules and regulations that they will likely give over the job to one of the dependents in the family in case their employee died.

With Narsaiah’s retirement fast approaching, Tirupati decided to kill his father to get his job. Currently, both Tirupati and Rakesh are under police custody while the police are on the lookout for their mother who has fled from spot.
