India-Australia First Virtual Summit- Business Discussions And Friendly Relationships

India and Australia were today engaged in the first virtual summit scheduled between PM Modi and PM Scott Morrison. According to the sources, it is said that both the PMs have signed 7 deals.

PM Modi expressed his deep condolences from his end and all over India to the people who are affected with coronavirus in Australia. Then he said, Indian Australia relationship is to develop wider and faster which is not only crucial for both the countries but also for the whole of Indo-pacific region and the world.

PM Modi pitched about the pandemic crisis that the world is facing. He asked Australia to coordinate and collaborate to achieve the aspired heights together.

Further, Modi referred to the virtual summit as “a new model of India-Australia partnership, a new model of conducting business. Following it he said, comprehensive reforms have started in all areas as his government takes the coronavirus crisis as an "opportunity".

Both the countries agreed to use the military bases. The landmark agreement about military access for the logistics is discussed in the summit. The discussion was on according to the refuel and access maintenance facilities to the military ships. India is already on a similar agreement with the US.

The two countries also signed the Framework Arrangement on Cyber and Cyber-Enabled Critical Technology Cooperation and MOU. The deal is to cooperate in the field of mining and processing of both critical and strategic minerals. India’s aim is to import strategic minerals from Australia instead of China to diversify the supplies.

Until now China was a huge buyer of Australia's exports.But after the coronavirus outbreak, both the countries are facing trade fictions.

Modi also said, there are immense opportunities to make “our friendship strong”

Post the summit, PM Morrison took twitter to talk about the virtual summit experience. He said, it takes the “Australia-India partnership to a new level”
