The cyclonic storm, Ampan reached both the states West Bengal and Odisha. The effect of the cyclone is devastating with the severe downpour and heavy winds. With the hit by the cyclone, 12 people were killed. Amphan shook away heavy damage in Kolkata and the nearby places.
According to the latest cyclone update, it is said that- cyclone damaged the roofs of thatched houses, electric poles and hundreds of trees have fallen down.
The trees are crashing down on the people and leaving them to death. This horrific incident happened to a man in North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. In Howrah, a 13 year old girl died with the same kind of incident.
With the alarming landfall at noon hours yesterday, nearly 6.8 lakh people were evacuated in West Bengal and Odisha.

Mamata Banerjee is monitoring the condition of West Bengal from Nabanna, the state secretariat. She said “Area after area has been ruined. I have experienced a war-like situation today. Such a devastating storm took place in 1737. I am sitting in the war room. My office in Nabanna is shaking.”
