The bookings for special trains crossed over 45,000 and the worth is around Rs 16 crores. Over 80,000 passengers are ready to travel in booked special trains.
The first train is scheduled to start from The New Delhi station for Bilaspur in Madhya Pradesh. These special trains started moving at 6 PM on Monday.
The railways gave an official update on the number of bookings which touched 45533 with the worth of 16.15 crores for the next seven days.
The Railways Department issued the new guidelines on Monday for the 15 special trains. The guidelines are to be followed strictly from Tuesday. The measures are- passengers need to carry their own food and they need to be available 90 minutes before the departure for the health screening.
Passengers must follow the social distance before boarding the train and while travelling the destination. indian Railways to take all the safety measures to keep the situation under control.
Along with these basic rules, the national transporter made it mandatory to have the Arogya Setu Application for all the passengers.
The Indian Railways will run 8 trains on Tuesday. Three from New Delhi terminating at Dibrugarh, Bengaluru and Bilaspur, and one each from Howrah, Rajendra Nagar (Patna), Bengaluru, Mumbai Central and Ahmedabad, which will terminate at Delhi.
The special trains are facilitated with air conditioners. Passengers who have the confirmed e-tickets are only allowed to enter the stations. The fares of these trains will be matching the Rajdhani trains and the passengers can book for the trains up to seven days in advance.
The ticket checking staff will be on duty however. They will check the no RAC, waitlist ticket or onboard bookings- said the railways.
