Google appoints new Lead for India cloud business

Google has appointed Karan Bajwa who is a long time industry veteran as Managing Director of Google Cloud in India on Wednesday.

Karan Bajwa who is senior leader with over three decades of leadership experience would be now responsible for driving all the revenue and the operation of the go- to- market for the extensive solution portfolio of Google Cloud which is said to include Google Cloud Platform and the G Suite in the country.

Rick Harshman who is the Managing Director of Google Cloud in Asia Pacific has said in a statement that the experience of Karan Bajwa would be a tremendous asset to the business o9f Google Cloud and its partners and also to its customers as the Google Cloud embarks on the next phase of growth.

The field sales, partner and customer engineering organizations of Google Cloud in India will also be reporting to Karan Bajwa and he would be advising the continued work of Google Cloud with the local developer ecosystem and the Global System Integrators (GSIs) which is Indian based.

Karan Bajwa has said that the leveraging of the cloud computing t6echnology in order to modernize and to scale for the growth is said to be on the agenda of almost every enterprise Chief Executive Officer and CIO and Google Cloud has been committed in helping every organization in accelerating their digital transformation.

He had worked with Microsoft for nine years which has been his last role in being the Managing Director for the operations of the company in India, prior to IBM and has also worked with Cisco Systems in India as well as in Singapore.

Google Cloud contains a rich list of customers in India which include Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, Indiamart, Hero Motocorp, ICICI Prudential, L& T Finance, LIC HFL, Manipal Hospitals, OYO Hotels and Homes, Truecaller, Wipro and also several others.

The company has made an announcement earlier this month which has been regarding the expansion of its presence in India which has been done by launching a cloud region in fdelhi, adding to its Mumbai region which has been opened in the year 2017.
