Improvement in Indo-US defence ties, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh suggests

The Defence Minister of India Rajnath Singh has said that India and the United States have been moving towards a collaborative approach in the defence sector rather than the traditional arrangement of buyer and seller, he has also told that the relationship that is being share between the countries of India and United States could become the biggest collaboration of the century, on Thursday.

Rajnath Singh has also referred to the several key agreements which have been signed during the 2+2 Dialogue which he had held with Mark Esper who is the Defence Secretary of the United States in December, as said by the Defence Minister of India in his speech at an event at the DefExpo- 2020.

An industrial security agreement has been signed by India and the United States during the two- by- two dialogue. According to the industrial agreement that has been signed, the transfer of the defence technology is said to be allowed.

The Defence Minister of India Rajnath Singh has said that, “the Indo- US relationship will move towards collaboration approach from the traditional ‘buyer- seller’. I am confident that this relationship will be more dynamic and vibrant in the future.”

Rajnath Singh has added saying that the United States is one of the largest defence exporters for the country India and also for the world and at the same time there is a steady increase in the defence manufacturing sector of India and the collaboration between the two countries India and the United States can be proven as the biggest collaboration of the entire century.

The investors have been assured that the defence sector of India has been getting reformed by its government and that the government would make sure that the development in the defence sector of the nation will be continued. The investors have been urged in order to take the maximum advantage of the reforms and to invest in India.

The Defence Minister has appreciated the business Council of US- India for the role that it played in improving the bilateral trade ties.

He has also said at the DefExpo- 2020 that the opportunities regarding the investments would increase in the state with the defence corridor being established.

The Def-expo is being attended by 38 defence ministers and the top executives which included the 172 foreign defence majors and also 856 Indian companies.
