Terrorists Hurl Grenade at CRPF Troops in Srinagar

A grenade had been hurled by unspecified number of terrorists at the troops of the Central Reserve Police Force in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday. The incident took place in Kawdara area of old Srinagar. The explosion of the grenade took place near a transformer, as reported by news agency ANI news. No reports on loss of life were recorded.

The incident of the Central Reserve Police Force troops being targeted took place hours after the Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist has been arrested by the police in Srinagar.

Nissar Ahmad Dar, hailing from Wahab Parray Mohalla at Hajin who was in the wanted list of the security forces was arrested on Saturday in Srinagar. Reports say that, the security forces have arrested Dar alive in an operation that was launched on Friday night. An associate of Salim Parray, a top terrorist of Lashkar-e-Taiba, Dar was reportedly planning for an attack on security force establishment.

Dar has been involved in eight cases until now and was detained under the Jammu and Kashmir Public Safety Act (PSA) in 2016 for the first time and then in 2017.

According to the security forces, a search has been launched based on the inputs which were received that a listed and wanted terrorist was hiding in Srinagar. The security forces managed to nab Dar alive and is being interrogated.
