During Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Donald Trump’s meet in France on the sidelines of the 67 summit, the two leaders shared a laugh while addressing the media after a talk between two countries.
While Trump needless to say addressed media in English, Narendra Modi chose to speak in Hindi which was translated into English for the audience.
In-between PM Modi said in Hindi, "Mujhe lagta hai hum dono ko baat karne dijiye, hum dono baat karte rahenge. Jab zarurat padegi hum apko zaroor jaankari pohchaenge [I think you should let the two of us talk, we will keep talking. When the need arises, we will apprise of you what transpired]."
Donald Trump responded saying: "He actually speaks very good English, he just doesn't want to talk right now!"
Trump's comment sent both leaders into laughter as well as gathering bursting out in a laugh.
PM Modi to his American friend’s remark held Trump's hand as we all usually do with any other friend.
Their meeting came against the backdrop of the Indian government revoking Article 370 that special status to Jammu and Kashmir and dividing the state into two Union Territories on August 5.
