Jammu and kashmir is voting today for its fourth and final phase of civic polls in 37 wards of the Central Kashmir’s Srinagar and Ganderbal districts. As the regional parties (National Conference party and People’s Democratic Party) prefer to boycott the elections which is actually scheduled to be happened for 132 municipal wards, the least 37 wards kick started its polling.A total of 260 candidates are contesting for 132 wards.

Congress and BJP Contesting as National Conference party and People’s Democratic party being Administered by Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir have boycotted the polls over the Section 35A pending decision by center, Section 35A as per the Indian Constitution ‘Bans people from buying immovable properties’.

Marking this as Opportunity BJP Leader Maulvi Tariq claims their Victory in the polls and Reminds how BJP shattered the elections in 2014,In which BJP bagged 25 out of 37 seats in Jammu Division, Yet BJP failed to win atleast one single seat in the valley. Thus, BJP President Amit shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi had ambitiously named it “mission-44plus”.

“I Thank you my political majors for boycotting the current municipal elections, special thanks to National Conference and People Democratic Party heart-full for making people leader win, BJP is always enthusiastic to built its chair in 13 Urban Local Bodies besides Our own mayor in the Srinagar Capital.” said BJP Leader Maulvi Tariq.

The major election for two out of eight municipal bodies witnessed maximum voter turnout at 56.7 percent till 10 am as per the Count released by the Election Commission. 308 polling stations were arranged for voting.

Voting began at the early hours of October 16 by sharp 6 am and will wrap by 4pm, High tightened security has been placed in and around the kashmir valley for the safety of voters and smooth conduct of polling. Mobile Internet services suspended in entire kashmir to ensure untoward incidents never be placed.

In last three phases of polls in valley, the voter turnout was typically low, First phase recorded 8.2% of voting in its first phase, 3.4% of voting in its second phase and 3.5 % of voting in its third phase. But, the entire state covered 56.7% of voter turnout.

The counting of votes could take place on October 20,2018.
