After a fatal stabbing is under the investigation as a possible hate crime, the University of Maryland is putting lot of efforts to battle hate on the university campus.
The President Wallace Loh announced on Wednesday that the school will create the hate-bias and campus safety task force and also an annual report tracking the hate-bias incidents.
The school will also create a rapid-response team in order to support the hate incident subjects and also allocate $100,000 for the diversity and inclusion efforts. The Athletic Council will be asked to examine on how to strengthen the policy to explicitly prohibit the hate-bias symbols or the actions at athletic venues and also remove the violators.
