CAAMfeast Celebrated Asian Cuisine In San Francisco

Over the weekend, hundreds of people across the city came hungry to a food-centered event at the San Francisco War Memorial and Performing Arts Center. Tai Chi Jianbing filled the Green Room with the scents of pork belly and freshly-made savory crepes.

Guests sampled multiple food stations at 2017 CAAMFeast. Guest sipped at Boba Guys' tea and specialty cocktails, and enjoyed artisanal truffles from Socola chocolatier.

Natasha Zouves an ABC7 news anchor was to emcee the foodie event. The event was celebrated to benefit the Center for Asian American Media (CAMM) by celebrating the food culture and storytelling on a Saturday night.

Some big names in the culinary world were honored for their emphasis on community. Chef Roy Choi, of the famous Kogi Korean BBQ and LocoL the Asian Chefs Association and the People's Kitchen Collective were recognized for their commitments to economic equity, community health and food justice.

The Caamfeast also kick off the 35th Anniversary of CAAMFest, it is an 11-day film, music and food festival that takes place on March 9 to 19th in San Francisco and Oakland. The event organizers said that they had a record number of submissions this year to choose from.
