Two Indians dead in Istanbul Nightclub Attack

Two Indian Abis Rizvi and Khusi Shah were, among others who were killed in Istanbul nightclub terrorist attack. Abis Rizvi son of former lawmaker Akhtar Hasan Rizvi, was a noted real estate developer from Mumbai and also recently had produced a Bollywood movie 'Roar: The Tigher of Sundarbans' and the other person has been identified as Khusi Shah a resident of Gujarat.

The terror attack took place during a New Year's Eve party at a night club in which 39 people were killed and other 69 were injured.

Around 1:15 am two men dressed as Santa claus armed with guns, shot the police officer who was guarding the front gate at that time and entered the club and opened fire on people inside reported the Dogan news agency. At least 15 foreign nationals were killed in the attack. Among the deceased were three French nationals, two persons from Tunisia, three persons from Jordan and a woman from Israel.

Till now no terror organization have taken the responsibility for the attack.

India's Union Minister Sushma Swaraj tweeted upon the death of two Indians in the attack.

Sushma Swaraj : "I've a bad news from Turkey. We have lost two Indian nationals in the Istanbul attack. Indian Ambassador is on the way to Istanbul".

Ms Swaraj had spoken to Akhtar Hassan Rizvi, the father of deceased Abis Rizvi. "Hassan Rizvi said he also wants to go to Istanbul. We are organising their Visa," Shushma Swaraj tweeted. The Indian envoy in Turkey has been alerted and asked to "make all arrangements".

Around 700 people were present in the Reina nightclub at the time of an attack, it is one of the city's most exclusive party spots.

Television footage showed men and women rushing out in a state of shock. Others threw themselves into the Bosphorus in panic. The attackers managed to escape and a massive manhunt has been launched for them.
