An overnight fire in an apartment in South Dallas forced people to jump from the balconies to escape themselves. At least two people were hurt in the incident.
According to the Dallas Fire-Rescue (DFR), they responded to the Mandalay Palms Apartments at 7501 Chesterfield Drive around 2:15 a.m.
Firefighters said, the fire consumed the breezeway trapping several people in their apartment units. None was hurt by the fire itself, DFR said.
Although, two people were injured trying to escape from the fire. One was hurt trying to climb a fence his first floor patio, while another was injured when a person jumping from a second floor landed on them.
Both victims were rushed to the local hospital for the minor injuries. The DFR said, around 70 firefighters put efforts to bring the fire under control.
The incident is being investigated by the officials, they are still looking for the cause of the blaze.
