Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday wished Happy Birthday to Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg. “I pray that you are blessed with a long life filled with good health,” said Modi on Facebook.

Zuckerberg visited India last year to attend the two-day Internet.org Summit when he met Narendra Modi along with Information Technology minister Ravi Shankar Prasad. Zuckerberg is the third high-profile head of a US-based technology firm to visit India, after Microsoft’s Satya Nadella and Amazon’s Jeff Bezos. Three months prior to his visit, Facebook’s CEO Sheryl Sandberg had also visited India when she met Modi as well.

Modi recalls his meeting with Zuckerberg a few months ago.

"Mark, I wish you a very Happy Birthday! Your innovative zeal has left a deep impact on society and you remain an inspiration for the world. I warmly recall our meeting a few months ago. I pray that you are blessed with a long life filled with good health," reads the post on Facebook.

Born on May 14, 1984, Zuckerberg is celebrating its 31st birthday today.

Narendra Modi is well known for his technology obsession over the years. From the moment he has come into the power, he has brought the best use of the social apps that many young ministers doesn’t know. From Facebook and Twitter to the latest Weibo, he is well-versed in many social websites.

Speaking about the popular mobile messaging app, he said, "When WhatsApp had just started, and long before it had become popular, I was telling my people to start using this as a means for communication as it would be a major messaging platform in the days to come.

" Modi is very popular on social media. Currently, the PM has 10.7 million followers on Twitter and 28,016,285 likes on Facebook.

But his opponents and ctitics comment thath Modi is increasingly becoming a toy in the hands of every growing technology.

Though the usage of Cloud technology, social media, and mobility are now became the essentials of the workspace in many organizations, incidents like the Uber cab driver fiasco have raised warning signals about excessive use of technology for day to day processes, the rapid rise of digital commerce and the proliferation of data, analytics and mobility are throwing up more challenges and opportunities every day.

In this regard, Will the Modi handle the digital bull by its horns and put the agenda out there for all of us. Only time will tell.
