Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi will not attend the meeting conducted by JDU(U)legislature party will be in Bihar called on 7 February , speculations are that the party veteran leader Nitish Kumar will fill the place of Jitan Ram Manjhi.
Under pressure to make his way to his predecessor, Manjhi took an aggressive position, in escalating the situations in the party which in hope that it will win in coming Assembly elections. "Since I have been working for the poor, I have been put under a lot of pressure," Manjhi said.
According to leading daily, from last 48 hours party president Sharad Yadav and former chief minister Nitish Kumar made continuous effort to make Jitan Ram Manjhi move voluntarily from the position and give his way to mentor Nitish Kumar.
Jitan Ram Manjhi were he has turned ways to him in the Bihar caste-ridden politics and where his community – the Maha Dalits – play a significant role, refused to oblige his political masters.
23 of the 115 MLAs were in favour of Manjhi continuing as CM, the top leadership of the party reportedly told Manjhi that Lalu and Mulayam, too, were in favour of Nitish taking over the reins of Bihar and hence he (Manjhi) should quit on his own without creating any political instability.
