The Government again has chosen ordinance method to continue reforms after completion of the parliament winter sessions. In the next cabinet meeting, this ordinance may get approval for excluding 13 central laws to clear several infrastructure and PPP projects through Amending the "The Right to Fair Compensation and Transparent in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013".

According to some media reports necessary instructions have been already issued to the Rural Development Ministry to get the draft ordinance that was scrutinized by the Law Ministry. The proposed ordinance could also make large infrastructure and PPP projects out of the act pertaining to Social Impact Assessment (SIA).

By amending “The Right to Fair Compensation and Transparent in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013”, government and Private projects can be easily started. This ordinance will clear many barriers to the major projects including Public Private Partnership infrastructural projects.

If this ordinance is accepted by the President after cabinet approval, the same must be passed by both the houses of parliament within six months to make an Act. As BJP is not having enough majority (number of members) in the upper house it is tough to be passed in the house without other’ support. It is also possible option to have a joint sitting of both the houses to pass the bill.
