NDA partners BJP and the Shiv Sena seems to be moving towards a break up over seat-sharing in Maharashtra. The two parties are going through troubled times over seat-sharing in poll-bound Maharashtra.

The Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray has been firm over his demand for 150 seats in the upcoming assembly polls. However Uddhav confirmed that he wants to continue his party to continue its alliance with the BJP.

An adamant Uddhav said "Modi had a mission of 272 for the BJP's claim to power." So what is wrong if he wants 150 seats for the Shiv Sena, added Thackeray.

However Uddhav Thackeray says he won't say anything negative untill a final decision is arrived at by the two parties.

According to reports the BJP has suggested that both the parties contest 135 seats each in the 288-seat Maharashtra assembly. But the Shiv Sena wants to contest 155 seat at least.

The alliance between the BJP and the Shiv Sena got soured after Uddhav Thackeray made remarks against prime minister Narendra Modi and projected himself as the face of Mahayuti, just ahead of the assembly polls that is scheduled for October 15.

Maharashtra's BJP unit workers were incensed over thackeray's remarks on Modi. And on Sunday the BJP said their workers were not interested in a seat-sharing arrangement with the Sena for the assembly elections. They alleged Thackeray's comments as being intended to "demean Modi".

On Saturday, Uddhav had said in a TV interview that the Modi wave had not worked in several states. And that the BJP's victory in the general elections cannot be attributed only to Narendra Modi, but the alliance partners should get equal credit.

During the interview Uddhav said people may have voted for a 'face' (Modi) to bring about a change. But the Shiv Sena contribution to the victory in Maharashtra. He pointed out states like Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Orissa and West Bengal, where the Modi wave did not work. So the alliance partners' role in the victory cannot be ignored. Uddhav even said that Narendra Modi is the Prime Minister of the alliance.
