Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted in Japanese on Thursday to strike a chord with the Japanese people ahead of his visit to Japan.
Modi's official Twitter handle carried a series of posts in Japanese, where he talked about the forthcoming visit. The Indian PM said that he was looking forward to his Japan visit while recalling the warm memories he had during his earlier visit to the country as the Chief Minister of Gujarat.
In his tweets Modi talked of visiting Tokyo and Kyoto and that he would interact with all sections of the Japanese society.
One of his Twitter posts at PMO India read: “Scale of innovation and level of precision among the people of Japan is admirable.”
Narendra Modi revealed that some of his friends from Japan had urged him to communicte to the people in Japan “directly” in Japanese. “I also thank them for helping with the translation,” read the PM’s personal Twitter handle @narendramodi.
Recently PM Modi had released a statement saying he was looking forward to theJapan trip that begins on August 30. He hopes that the “time-tested” bilateral ties will reach a new level and reflect in increase cooperation in different fields.
Narendra Modi’s trip to Japan will be his first bilateral visit outside the subcontinent after he became India’s PM in May. Modi said that he was “excited” to meet the Japanese Premier Shinzo Abe whom he deeply respects.
The PM’s official statement said also emphasised on the “time-tested” friendship between Japan and India. He also said Japan and India were two vibrant democracies, which were committed to bring peace and prosperity in the world.
PM Narendra Modi also stated that he was scheduled to visit Japan in early July but due to ongoing Parliament session it had to be delayed.
