With the rapid rise in working mothers, an increasing number of children in metros of India are being left at the responsibility of care takers. Today's parents are so busy following their career that they fail to protect their child, often infants, from harassment.
Recent, TV9 released a video of how a caretaker harasses 11 months baby, whom she has to take care of. The video shows shocking footage of the woman mishandling a child in Pune.
The caretaker first jerks the infant as if she is dealing with laundry. And then she throws him on bed like a piece of garbage. It's really scarry how she drops the child on bed.
Next the woman is shown in the living area and the infant is in its pram. The heartless caretaker picks up the child and throws it roughly on the beanbag. Its really shocking what she does to the child.
The victim of this harassment may not get hurt due to the ample cushioning in bed and beanbag. But it could leave psychological impact on the child. Besides the child may bounce out of the bed or beanbag and get injured.
The parents of this child may have felt something wrong in the child's behaviour. Probably that's the reason for the video recording.
Most kids who are left with care takers face some form of harassment, like not getting food and water in time, getting hurt due to carelessness and sometimes even left soiled. Some caretakers even beat the innocent child due to their personal frustration.
Working parents cannot give up on their jobs. But they should at least ensure that the care taker is reliable and their child is in safe hands.
