With summer-breaks looming, the fare-war in Indian skies have just intensified!
Low-cost airlines like IndiGo and SpiceJet have announced a holiday bonanza for the upcoming summer holiday season.
While SpiceJet has decided to cut down its fares by 75 per cent in a special three-day sale, market leader IndiGo too announced a significant rebate on fares for tickets booked between from April 1-June 30.
With both biggies out to lure the customers, competitor carriers like Air India and Jet Airways are expected to join the 'super summer sale' race anytime soon.
An Air India spokesperson said the airline "is keenly watching the developments and would take a decision on it soon".

If you might remember, this is the third time in the past two months that Kalanithi Maran-run SpiceJet has dropped its rates. However, unlike the earlier lean season offer, the current cut is valid for tickets during the April-June period only.
"Super summer sale offers up to 75 per cent off base fare plus fuel surcharge relative to last minute fares, for travel between April 1 and June 30, 2014," SpiceJet announced.
The airlines have agreed to sell tickets at highly discounted advance purchase after the overwhelming success of the earlier two similar schemes.
"We received overwhelming positive feedback from customers who booked the earlier 'super sales' for taking the lead in making air travel more affordable, where travellers can now book more spontaneously and more often by air, and also for attracting many first time travellers," SpiceJet Chief Operating Officer Sanjiv Kapoor said.
