Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal is out to woo Muslim voters it seems. On Monday the AAP leader interacted with members of the India Islamic Centre to discuss issues concerning the community.
Kejriwal, while talking to the Muslim intelligentsia, stated that the issue of communalism in India was a greater threat than corruption to its citizens.
The former Delhi chief minister assured the gathering that his party would try to give maximum representation to the community by fielding as many Muslim candidates as would be possible.
Kejriwal also promished that if AAP is elected then his party would take up the issue of compensation to riot victims under Section 341 of IPC. The particular section dealing with punishment for wrongful restrain is a much debated topic. It relates to wrongful detention of youths, as terror suspects, belonging to the Muslim community.
